Illegal Banning of Dioror2124

This happened back in 2013, near May. Can't remember exactly when.

For the record, I'm writing this because I had a bit of nostalgia and wanted to check out the old server. I came to the forums and read a few of my old posts. I'm here to discuss why this server had an incredibly toxic environment and how the drop in player count corresponds to it.

Dioror2124, by the way, is my brother. We would play on ZeldaCraft quite frequently back in the summer of 2013. It was a blast. Every day we would get up to something new, interact with people, cause conflict - we would make adventures, and the server, incredibly fun.

Close to May the 23rd, my brother was banned for using "blatant pvp hacks."

It's been 8 years since then. I've matured quite a bit and I want the truth to be known now.

Neither one of us knew how to download hacks on a Linux computer. We were playing on pretty much 15 fps capped shitters back in the day. Despite no evidence, my brother was banned permanently from the server.

    Most important takeaway:

I'm here just to say this wasn't the case. The ass holes who lied about it, the ass holes who banned him - that's a shitty thing to do. You can find them by going through ban appeals. Lying through their teeth, and it tilted me enough to write this. It's unbelievable how little evidence was required to ban my brother and myself and shows a failing in the leadership of this server.

The entire server experience was like this. I believe my brother was accused of having multiple alts for griefing (this was, again, not the case - we had one account each, mine being Link2124 and his being dioror2124) and everybody took this as fact despite having 0 evidence.

I griefed one time on the server when I was brand new.

ZeldaCraft was literally my first server, and I didn't understand what the term - as a 13-year-old kid - "griefing" meant. I took that temporary ban as a learning experience.

Regardless of this fact, myself and my brother (despite the moderators having the use of CoreProtect) would be consistently targeted as "griefers" and "untrustworthy" on the server.

Now, I don't remember many of the events that transpired on the server, but I know that my intentions were never ill. I was never setting out to grief somebody - I was setting out to make friends.

My brother griefed two times and received a temporary ban of two weeks on his second. During this, he was permanently banned for his "hacking."

This server was just incredibly corrupt. Why, I was banned from the damn forums after being inactive for months on it. I only learned about that TODAY when I tried to log back in!

Yes, I was a stupid kid, but I was not a liar. I did stupid things, like build over somebody's base while making a skyblock. My bad for that, I didn't understand what the big deal was at the time.

End of this rant - there were plenty of awesome people. But they didn't get to stay for long because they would be banned. And if you dared talk back or say that the banning was unjust, the moderators would mute / ban you too.

I don't care if you think that this is baby rage - I saw plenty of lies and had enough motivation to write this.

Do better. Foster a community that loves RP and isn't willing to tolerate a system which doesn't require evidence to ban. Foster a community that isn't willing to put up with abusive moderators and admins. That behavior is unacceptable. Get the best out of your leadership.

Our community has changed greatly from how it was 8 years ago. You should play again and see that for yourself.

Edit: I checked Dioror2124 using the discord bot and the last time he was on was November 18th 2020 so he definitely isnt banned

I'd also like to point out that https://www.zeldacraft.com/threads/dioror-is-a-griefer-please-help-us.254/

A player reported your brother for griefing and he got banned, and then you argued with an old staff member.

Yes the past was different but why bring it up now if you're both unbanned? Play the server to see that the community is different than it was in 2013/2014, You'll like it much more

I'm not sure what your goal is with this, or what "lies" you saw that made you write about an incident that happened 8 years ago. The community is very different now, and almost nobody here today was around back then. I'm not sure who you or dioror are, and it looks like dioror's ban was lifted at some point. I can assure you the community is not smaller today because of any form of toxicity.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I'll still leave my thoughts. I've happened to read some things from back in 2013 myself, did not seem like fun times. I was not around at the time, but I do know that back then, just like the players, many moderators were also children back then. But just like all of the players, people throughout the years grow up and mature. The moderator team has seen many changes in people, which you can see on the staff list forum thread, and it's nowhere near what it was back then. Now I get your frustration, and it's totally acceptable that you want to get that weight out of your chest and say what happened back then, but please, don't keep a false ideas in your head without knowing how something is now, and I'm not only saying that about the server. Generally bad to judge something from their past without knowing how they are now
